This panel of educators and DVR consultants discuss practices that have been used to develop partnerships between schools and DVR. Discussion will include ways to develop more effective partnerships based on experiences and suggestions from the panel.

Juvenile Justice and Transition

This session will examine how to best provide Pre-Employment Transition Services to students who are serving both short and long-term sentences in statewide detention centers. Demographics will be shared as well as suggestions to increase opportunities for partnerships with stakeholders. This breakout session will not merely be a sit and get but a time for strategic planning.

Student-Led Person-Centered Planning

Presented by Dr. Cinda Johnson, CCTS and Cindy Wright, DVR.

Participants will learn strategies to not only include the student in person-centered planning but to put them into the driver’s seat. Learn how to make this experience integral to transition services and guide the development of the IEP and Pre-ETS.
