Across the state of Washington school districts and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation are increasingly working together to support the transition of young people with disabilities. Dr. Johnson provides a brief history of this work, shares highlights from these activities, and offers a call for action to take the next steps together on this adventure.

DVR and OSPI Partnering for Results

Co-presented by Rob Hines, DVR and Glenna Gallo, OSPI

This presentation addresses agency updates, Order of Selection, statewide transition planning, Pre-ETS, state data, policies, and recent legislation in the areas of transition services under IDEA and post-secondary outcomes. It also includes a facilitated group activity to solicit feedback on Pre-ETS changes and identify opportunities for improving collaboration between education and DVR.

Closing Conversation/Lunch

Facilitated conversation with Casey White, Kittitas School District; moderated by Dr. Cinda Johnson, CCTS.

Our Forum culminates in this lunchtime conversation that will explore how students are using Pre-ETS activities and experiences to plan for success in their transition from high school to a post-secondary environment. Boxed lunches* will be available, and our speakers will take questions from the audience. The conversation will be followed by a few brief closing remarks to wrap up the event.
