Many areas of Washington have established ITNs while others are just beginning. This panel will discuss the development, impact and growth of an ITN as well as how to make an ITN an established group to improve transition activities for youth in their communities.
Sharing Space: A Framework for Culturally Responsive Transition Planning

This presentation offers participants ways to improve practice and transition planning for students and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) backgrounds. Participants will learn how to achieve mutually determined transition goals by: (1) examining and challenging their own values, assumptions, and world views; (2) developing strategies to incorporate student and family values; (3) learning to acknowledge and respect the world view differences between students, their families and professionals.
